40. November 3, 2020 - A little background --this page depicting Theseus rushing into the coastal Greek town of Epidaurus is based upon my own experience entering the city of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Not because I've ever been chased by a club-wielding maniac while entering the city limits, but simply because I enjoy the experience in the exact same measure. Ironically, after a few minutes within a city that boasts its rich cultural credentials by installing non-objective expressionist sculptures between two decaying liquor stores, I silently beg for some unseen force to crush me with a murderous club and spare me yet another moment in the Scenic City where the scenery is comprised mostly of the impact of neglected building codes, concrete Soviet architecture and whimsically named restaurants.
