318. December 5, 2023 - This reminds me of the time I was in prison. Coldness. Hard surfaces --nothing comforting. Never encountering a smile, just the dreary faces of those doing what they know they have to do. Grudging acceptance of the reality in which we found ourselves --simply waiting for it all to be over. The food was...wanting. Nothing beyond chewing and swallowing unless you had a distinct passion for gorditas and Mountain Dew Baja. It's just now occuring to me that I'm remembering 30 minutes in a Taco Bell.
