175. March 29, 2022 - When I started this comic two years ago I thought I was an opinionated illustrator. But in hindsight, I don't think I really started to get a sense of how I thought panels SHOULD flow until I started chapter 4 c. page 100. By that point, I had decided that I disliked the splash page. I started to notice it being overused. I noticed other webcomics relying heavily on them, and diluting their impact with the level of frequency. I saw a splash page spit at a puppy in my neighborhood. I heard on the news how another splash page had burned down a forest just for the fun of it. I heard that splash pages had formed an alliance with the wolves and goblins of the Misty Mountains. So I've started using them much less. Here, however, it felt weird NOT to include a splash page. Just give it a wide berth. Look from afar.
